Some personal experiences
The techniques are all highly adaptable. I encourage students to find new ways to use the techniques to help people (including themselves, of course), ways that the name of the technique might not suggest.
Who would have thought that MS, symptoms could be corrected with the Habit Control Technique? Something told me to try it, and it helped my sister stop her choking problem, and to stop shaking her head, and to begin feeding herself again.
Attitude is everything. If I had had a "poor me” attitude, I have no question I would be dead now.
When I was told by the neuro ophthalmologist that he thought I had MS, I didn't care; I was on my way to Laredo to become a Silva instructor, and I knew there was nothing I could not overcome with the techniques. I blew him away because I think he expected me to be devastated by the diagnosis, considering my sister's situation.
Positive affirmations helped me a lot when I was correcting my eyesight. I had a whole sequence of affirmations I went through, at least three times a day, every day, along with my visualizations. I still repeat it occasionally. I have listed them below.
Silva is a program of "Mind Control." Doing something physical is not "cheating.” I encourage people to do things like massage or physical therapy or foot reflexology, or take herbs if that will truly help the condition, not just alleviate symptoms.
I don't want people to become a lifetime subsidy for the pharmaceutical industry, but sometimes those things can help a person to concentrate on what they need to do for their healing. "Heaven helps those who help themselves.” And as Mr. Silva said, if you have a serious problem, throw everything at it that you've got.
The more I study this field, the more I understand that Love is all there is.
I once heard a doctor say that he had never seen a person with an autoimmune disease who loved him/herself. And I thought, "Yep, that's me.” So now, I also program to love myself more.
You have to love yourself enough to want to do the programming. You have to love yourself enough to believe that you are worthy of good health. And of course, the more you love yourself, the more you can love others and help them.
Finally, I have some caveats: First, there's the idea, "Be careful what you wish for; you might get it,” which is how I got MS. I wished I had it so I could show my sister it could be healed.
Second, don't quit programming when you think you are "recovered.” Keep up a "maintenance dose” of programming (minimum) to be sure that things keep going the way you want them to go. This can prevent a relapse.
Third, "Okay” sucks. I'd look at my sister's condition and think, "I'm not that bad yet - I'm doing okay.” It took me a long time to realize that I wasn't, and that "okay” isn't.
