Gaining an advantage
I am active in sports, softball primarily, and basketball. At my age, I need to have an advantage to be able to be out there and participate competitively.
In softball, I play in the outfield. Normally they have kids there in their teens and 20s who are very fast, who can move and catch.
One game last season I was playing center field. It seemed like everything was falling in place. I could actually picture the ball right before the batter hit the ball, and picture in which direction it was going.
I was getting such a good jump on it, that even though I don't have the speed that I used to have, that anticipation helped me make the plays.
You can do that. You can develop that by working cases.
Motivating yourself
Visualization is the most important thing. It can help you to motivate yourself to work out, to motivate yourself to go out and participate, take part in the activity, in the game. It can help you to prepare. It can help you to correct your mistakes.
Something that you can use, that you learn in the Basic Lecture Series, is the Mirror of the Mind.
In anything in life, you need to prepare yourself mentally. You hear that 90 percent of the time, it is a mental thing. The mental game. You also need to do the physical things.
But sometimes, what do we do? Get home, sit down, turn on the  television. But you need to work out and prepare. What do you do? Sit there and watch the movie?
How do you motivate yourself to go out there and do the things you need to do to prepare yourself?
     Visualize yourself doing the things.
One of the best ways to motivate yourself is to visualize your successes.
Visualize the times when you accomplished something good. A good play you did. When you won the game. When you did something spectacular.
Those will help you to motivate yourself to go and work out.

Mental preparation
How many time have you said, "Gee, if I had just done this, we would have won the game."
You can prepare yourself by using visualization and imagination. Visualize yourself doing the things that you need to do, the things that you will be doing in that activity. Picture yourself doing the right things.
If you have made a mistake, use visualization and imagination at the alpha level to correct it. That's all you need to do.
By the time you get to the physical part, you will have already played the game. You will have already won the game.

The finish line
     So remember:
*Working cases is very important. Develop that intuitive factor.
*Use visualization and imagination to motivate yourself, and prepare yourself, and to get that winning attitude.
